Student Workshop

The Local Organising Committee of IRMMW-THz 2015 is proud to present the first IRMMW-THz Student Workshop, to be held on the 22-23 August 2015 at the T Y Wong Hall in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The idea of the IRMMW-THz student workshop is to give PhD research students an introduction to some of the major areas of the main conference so that they can better understand papers subsequently presented in the main conference. We have invited six experts to give a seminar on a number of diverse fields primarily related to the generation and detection methods for infrared, millimetre and terahertz waves. These seminars will begin from a basic standpoint and explain key concepts carefully before giving some background and examples of famous works in the field.  All talks will be accompanied by a question and answer session where we will seek to encourage interaction and participation from the attending students.

Participation will be limited and students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible via the regular conference online registration process. Please note it is not possible to attend the student workshop without attending the regular conference. An additional fee of HKD $400 (approximately USD $51) will be added to your invoice to cover the extra costs associated with the workshop. We hope that you, the students, will find this to be an excellent primer for the cutting edge research showcased at IRMMW-THz 2015.
