Financial supports for biomedical engineering student participation are available now! Applications from full-time post/under-graduate students enrolled in a biomedical engineering (or a related area of research to biomedical engineering) degree program will be considered for three to five grants to cover the student registration fees or travel expenses. The applications will be judged by a committee composing of the summer school faculty members. The winners of the student grants will receive monetary awards together with certificates at the ISSS-MDBS 2006 to be held in MIT, Boston , USA , in September 4-6, 2006 .
Applicants should send a resume including degree, grade point average, research experience, your paper ID (or your paper PIN number if you have submitted a paper to the ISSS-MDBS 2006), plus a one-paragraph statement of reasons for attending to Dr. P. Bonato BEFORE June 2, 2006. The finalist will be notified by June 30, 2006 .
Other rules and conditions:
- Applicant for the student awards must be a student who registers currently in a university or research institution in the year of 2006.
- A student who submits a paper to the ISSS-MDBS 2006 before the paper submission deadline will be given the propriety for grant consideration. The submitted paper will be evaluated on the basis of high scientific merit, originality, and clarity in English writing.
- Applicants must register at ISSS-MDBS 2006 before/on 30 June, 2006 . Winners must attend the conference and are expected to present their papers at either a platform or poster session.
- The decision of the Judging Committee as to the eligibility of any applicant (and any paper if applicable) and the winning applicant shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into in relation to eligibility and judging process.
